Frequently Asked Questions
-
Mixing with Jake starts at $250 per song for sessions up to 16 tracks, with flat rates up to $400 for larger sessions of as many as 64 tracks. The price is per song, not per hour, so you know the full cost before work begins. Podcast episodes are mixed at $200.
-
Only for recording. Mixing happens remotely for artists anywhere in the world: you send your session or stems, Jake sends back a release-ready mix, and revisions are handled over email. Production can also run remotely, depending on the project.
-
Either your full session (Pro Tools or Ableton) or exported stems, which are individual audio files for each track, all starting from the same point in the song. Not sure how to export stems from your setup? Ask, and Jake will walk you through it.
-
Turnaround depends on the song and the current schedule, but most single-song mixes come back within one to two weeks, with revision rounds after that. If you have a release date, mention it when you get in touch and the timeline gets planned around it.
-
Yes. A mix is not finished until it sounds right to you, so revision rounds are part of the process, not an upsell. Major changes in direction, like new recording or re-production, are scoped separately.

Everything from harsh noise and punk to singer-songwriters and rappers. Jake's specialty is rock and metal, built over eight years of producing and songwriting in those genres, so if your record leans loud, you are in especially good hands.
