It all began at open mic nights in small Texas saloons. Over the years Jake established himself as an entertainer in the Austin bar and restaurant scene, playing rooms of every size and learning what makes a song land in front of a live crowd.

While in Austin he studied Music Business, Performance, and Audio Technology at Austin Community College, with an emphasis in Audio Engineering. That training laid the framework for everything that followed.

In 2018 Jake moved to Los Angeles and began his engineering career at 17 Hertz Studio in North Hollywood, the storied room formerly known as One on One Studios, where Metallica recorded the Black Album. He started as an intern, learned the recording and production side of the industry from the inside, and worked his way up to engineering sessions of his own. Since then he has engineered and produced for independent artists and major label clients across rock, metal, punk, hip hop, and beyond.

Jake works in Pro Tools and Ableton, with a soft spot for analog gear and the records that made him want to do this in the first place.
